What about the burglar who broke into a house that belonged to a JW. He came across a briefcase thinking that there were valuables inside, but it turned out to be JW literature. Of course he contacted the owner of the briefcase to return it after he was enlightened and asked, not only for forgiveness, but a free home bible study as well!

Bob Saget for obvious reasons
Jake Gyllenhaal for obvious reasons.
And this guy I knew who died...there were suspicious circumstances but was ruled a suicide. I'd like to know what really happened.

Jay-Hovah uh-huh / uh-huh
by prophecor indoes anyone know what the deal is with rapper sean carter, aka jay-z and his refering to himself as jay-hovah?
its a pretty close call naming yourself such by jw standards possibly bordering on blasphemy.
does anyone know if he may've been associated with jw's at some time, and if he was, whether his choosing of the name might be a response to his no longer believing the teachings of jws?

I'm not totally sure, but I haven't heard anything about him being a JW or XJW.
On the other hand, Jehovah is not used exclusively by the JW's as their god. Isn't Jehovah the name of the Jewish God, too?

What about the demonized computer mouse that chases you and hisses and snaps at you like a rattlesnake? Anything to keep the witnesses away from the internet, hey?
The dumbest thing I ever heard was some witnesses in a poor country that were going door to door and were very hungry.
Some people came by in a truck ridiculing them for doing the preaching work. Guess what? It was a vegetable truck and they started throwing vegetables at the hungry witnesses to bully them. Turns out that the ridiculers gave them their meal for the day!

Also, my mother said I could come to her house, but we were not allowed to have a meal together. But when I moved to another city, I could stay for a little bit and have a meal because I was traveling. Later they changed their minds and said I could only come over if I agreed to get a piece of furniture that belonged to me and bring it back with me, because then I would be going there for "family business."
Also, they've seen my five-year-old son only a couple times since he was born. The first time they actually came to my house when he was a few months old. Then my father wouldn't come because it was against his conscience. But my mother decided it wasn't against hers, but she had to meet me in a park, she wouldn't come to my house. Now they say that he's of the age that he can come visit them on his own. That the only reason they were allowed to visit me before was because my son was too small to be visited by himself.
So now when they call me every two years or so "for family business' they ask if they can pick him up and take him for a weekend. I'm like, yeah right, like I'd let my son go off with a complete stranger so you can start brainwashing him!
Argghhh, I hate that cult. I'm so glad that I'm out.

There was a family of JW's in our congregation where the father was disfelloshipped.
I was pretty close friends with the girls of the family, but was not allowed to go over for sleepovers unless he was gone. But their mother babysat me for very cheap, and that was ok if he came home while I was there because it was business? Also, my mom would get her vacuum cleaner fixed by him and it was ok, because it was business.
One time, I was allowed to go to a sleepover there even though he wasn't gone because we agreed to sleep outside in a camper. That was ok. If I went over there to spend the day but not sleepover, it was ok. It was stupid.

I am moved
by rune ini stayed up all night to see it... the buildings out the windows of my apartment shimmer in the distance as a wave of golden light rises from the horizon, painting the sky glorious shades of blue, violet and orange.
the darkness recedes, creeping through the forests before the city.
light, especially a sunrise, holds a special place in my heart.... what moves you?
